Hold Fast, Hold On, And Hold Out

To all of you who have made it to the coveted financial mountaintop plateau of wealth and independence. To all of you who are driven and living larger than life, larger than your legend, and have far exceeded your goals and vision, we heartily applaud you with high honors, high marks, and high praise. But for those of us who are still entangled and entrapped in the trough, trenches, and trappings of the proverbial struggle, we encourage you to hold fast, hold on, and hold out.

To all of you who have nothing left to your name as you fast approach your 3 score and 10, missed the mark, and your goals and vision have vaporized by the formidable fighting’s within and fighting’s without, and you cannot see you now in your present or in your future. To all of you who have experienced challenges in the marketplace, challenges in the marriage space, and challenges in the mental space with setbacks, sidetracks, and some self-made sabotage. And to all of you who declared bankruptcy in your life, bankruptcy in your goals, and bankruptcy in your vision, and have not championed your demons, championed your vice, and championed your kryptonite, we encourage you to hold fast, hold on, and hold out.

For you are so much more than the sum total of successes and failures. Much more than the sum total of accolades of achievements and agony of defeats. Much more than the barrenness of your womb or the father’s firstborn man-child, seed, and virility. And much more than the sum total of your every high and low, and so much more than your prized life and prized legacy, so hold fast, hold on, and hold out.

Scripture says, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding. He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. Youths may become faint and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:28-31

Therefore, hold fast, hold on, and hold out.
