Faith, The Final Frontier

This thought was written almost 2 decades ago as an inspiration to brothers who are on the Christian journey, striving to reach higher ground on heaven’s tableland.  Keep your head up, look to the skies and remain optimistic.

Faith, The Final Frontier

Men, we are honored and grateful to stand together at the threshold of a new millennium to behold the Ancient of Days that speaks from eternity.  From the clay of eternity we were fearfully and wonderfully made.  From the clay of eternity we were hewn in to His everlasting image.  Into the clay of eternity He breathed everlasting life.  From the throne of eternity, He ordained us to rule with authority over the kingdoms in our lives and the ravager of the world.  From the throne of eternity He empowered us with the freedom of the will to choose life and prosperity over death and adversity, the calling of salvation over the coffin of sadism.  And from the throne of eternity He has established the stratosphere of faith.  This is the final frontier where men must walk by Divine Destiny not Manifest Destiny, faith not fate, discernment not desires, fasting not fantasizing, loving not lusting, prayer not pride, and by His all-sufficient grace that enables without hindered strides.  His eternal hands did not make a mistake but a masterpiece, destined to be used in the divine plan of God’s kingdom to come and will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Take heart and be encouraged to know that man is the plan that God demand and what God plans does not return to him void but accomplishes that which it was purposed.  So with a steadfast hope our panting soul looks up to thee longing to rise in your arms of faith and be closer drawn to thee.

Yes brothers, this is an epistle of encouragement to remind us that God is still on the throne and is enthroned by righteousness and justice, ruling with the gavel of favor.  Know that you are in our intercessory prayers and in God all things are possible no matter what flagrant evidence the beast, the whoremonger of our souls brandish against you.  For we are determined to speak flesh on to the substance of things hoped for and body to the evidence of things not seen in our lives as though they were.  We realize that it is not by might or by power but it is by my spirit says the Lord of Hosts.  So let the jury of self hate come, the jury of childhood rage come, the jury of failure come, the jury of depression come, the jury of homicide come, the jury of suicide come, and the jury of condemnation come.  Let them all come to try our faith!  For we will not be afraid because He’s brought us out to bring us in to our promise land.  A land flowing with milk and honey, a land flowing with valleys of opportunity and mountains of longevity, a land where vision takes on flesh and hope bridges the future, and a land that is prominent and promising.  In this land, the Lord reminds us that His plans are to prosper not prostitute and to give us a revelation of our self worth not net worth.

This land, rewarding though it may be, cannot be taken without the exertion of a fortitude force of faith.  So we petition God to quicken within us the spirit of temerity not timidity, courage not cowardice, and faith not fear enabling us to champion over the giants in our land.  The Word reminds us that the kingdom of heaven is taken by force and the violent take it by force.  In that, we offer up violent prayers for the tearing down of Satan’s stronghold, violent prayers for the destitute, desolate, and dejected lost souls, violent prayers for the breakthrough and advancement of our Sojourner Truth’s, Harriet Tubman’s, and spiritual underground railroads.  We offer up prayers spiked with an aggressive faith, abrasive will, and a steadfast hope sanctioned by God.  For the Adamic nature is incessantly at war with the Spirit of God that indwells us and desires to ravage our righteousness, repress our revival, and rotten our hope in the Holy Ghost.  But with the fear of Almighty God and a churning trembling within we work out our sole and soul’s salvation huddled in the upper room of Bethel to receive the climactic cataclysmic Pentecost of our days.

We bring forth the royal diadem of praise to our Lord and Savior for all that He has done and for the multitude of blessings yet to come.  Through His death, burial and triumphant resurrection we now have life and have it more abundantly.  Truly, the latter is greater than the former.  The days of drinking and drugging are no more.  The days of hanging and hustling are no more.  The days of looting and shooting are no more.  The days of ducking and dodging are no more.  The days of chucking and jiving are no more.  The days of dipping and tipping are no more.  The days of games and gimmicks are no more!  We realize as men to reach our potential, we must cast down the high places in our past that God might erect in their stead His sovereign power, sovereign will, and sovereign grace to undergird our faith.  Surely as in every seed there is a tree, in every bird a flock, in every fish a school, in every cow a herd, there is in every boy a man, girl a woman, and a nation a generation.  As such, God is calling us as men by faith to mount the lofty heights of our potential and to be the epistles of brotherhood as we live, move and have our being in Him.  So by faith we declare that we are no longer hung up by our hang-ups, shaken by our shadows, silenced by our sorrows, caged by our rage, torn by our tempers, worn by our worries or consumed by our concerns.  We declare, that we have count the cost for carrying the cross and proclaim that we are busting loose from the shackles of the past, busting loose from the manacles in our mind, busting loose from the chains of pain, and busting loose from the bondage of our sacrilegious use of our bodies.  We are sons of the living God who are not afraid to climb Jacob’s ladder to go higher in Jesus, not afraid to look to the hills to behold the creator of our help, not afraid to scale the Lord’s mountain to encounter His glory, and not afraid to climb Mount Zion to behold the city of God.  Our body is the temple of God and as he is holy, so we ought to be sanctified, consecrated, and wholly unto Him.

Brothers, remember the Lord has brought you from a mighty long way.  For there are some here who have been through the flash flood of fear, through the cesspool of sin, through the septic abyss of sorrows, and been through the volcanic furnace of vicissitude.  Others have been broadsided by the insatiable ego, blitzed by male prowess, and bum rushed by the oracles of vanity.  But we rise today without spot or wrinkle, we rise today with a sound mind not cynical, we rise today saved and unscathed, we rise today not at the base of our faith but at the pinnacle!  Behold, the Lord has ordered our steps by His Word and made our feet like hinds feet to tread upon the fears of our past and foes of our future.  Like Paul, we have not yet reached the goal of the higher calling but we press on in Jesus’ name; forgetting what is behind and straining forward to obtain an ignited, empowered, transformed mind.  Yes, we are pressing on to higher ground on heavens tableland to obtain the prize of the heavenly calling in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.  But in order to keep our eyes on the prize, we’ve got to come to terms with our faith, the final frontier.
