My Sister-in-law pastor’s a new church plant and she will celebrate its one anniversary, March 15, 2026. I was asked to write a Spoken Word thought on the theme, “Positioned For Purpose”, and my thoughts poured forth by inspiration.
“Positioned For Purpose“
Hear, oh house of L.E.A.D, church plant established as a beacon, an outpost amid the kingdom of darkness, the LORD our God is with thee. Your Overseer, Shepherd, and Psalmist meditate day and night from the Psalter of life to the LORD of song who sings over you. She knows Man’s chief purpose and highest calling is to glorify God and to fully enjoy Him forever.
In Word-centered worship the assembly sits patiently in His holiness and remains planted in the Spirit. They bathe in worship, adoration, and the Word expressed in song before Him. Their groanings too deep for words, yet the Spirit Himself intercedes within young lives and saints of L.E.A.D. With patient endurance, they await the mite, the mustard seed, the Word of God—like falling rain on good soil appointed with purpose to grow souls into mighty Sequoias: oaks of righteousness who will bear witness to the Rock—the Way, Truth, and the Life. After the Word rains down, the LORD, who inhabits the praises of His people, sets His face on L.E.A.D, the church plant, and walks amidst the lampstand and power comes out from Him to heal and restore all souls anew for God’s purpose.
Moses, faithful in all God’s house, spent forty years in the backside of the wilderness shepherding sheep, positioned himself for God’s purpose. Through his humble obedience, God raised him up from among his brothers as ruler and deliverer by the angel of the LORD in the burning bush. David, the humble shepherd boy, spent years in the backside of the mountain shepherding sheep, positioned himself for God’s purpose. The horn of oil was poured upon him, the Spirit rushed upon him, and his heart remained after God, and he became king over Israel.
Yeshua, God incarnate, faithful over God’s house as the Good Shepherd, positioned Himself for purpose. He lived among us in hidden obedience for thirty years, was led into the backside of the wilderness for forty days, and conquered the prince of the power of the air, the ruler of this world by the Logos—the Word.
Therefore, the God of Moses, the God of David, and God incarnate—has given unto L.E.A.D everything in Christ Jesus and every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places for the battle cry of Ephesians’ warfare. To stand firm against the kingdom of darkness, death, and damnation requires the full body armor of light. For manifesting the kingdom of Christ in the kingdom of darkness is spiritual warfare. So, L.E.A.D—the body and bride of Christ, the temple of the Living God—is not afraid to engage in spiritual warfare. Then we as the God-fearers, called out ones, called by grace, have been entrusted and commanded to proclaim the mystery—the God-breathed gospel of life and true light to all male and female, slave and free, and Jew and Gentile.
But first, we must welcome our wilderness seasons to humble, grow, and mature us as oaks of righteousness, image bearers, and instruments that disrupt and pull down the strongholds of Satan, who seeks to distort the Gospel of Christ. Let us remain steadfast, immovable, always abounding in God’s Word as L.E.A.D is positioned for purpose by God in her next season of ministry. For “He who calls her is faithful; He will surely do it.”
