The intrepid, indomitable and eternal kindred spirit of freedom and justice will always propel the souls of impoverished peoples in every nation and generation around the world to create unrest until absolute truth, equality and pursuit of life and liberty are realized by all. Last week we witnessed in Baltimore Maryland seemingly a marginalized group of people, the benighted black mass, unacknowledged, unnamed faceless and peopleless socio-economic and political nobodies living in silence among the socially dead in the disenfranchised urban enclave, void of nerve and wherewithal to lay claim to property, personhood and peoplehood, standup with their hands up and declare their existence as sovereign citizens of the United States of America.
These spirited people are not a menace to society, metastasizing mass and/ or a malevolent mob mutating into riotous destruction as depicted. These spirited people are not the walking dead, repugnant stigma and irredeemable race relegated to the bottom rung in society. And these spirited people are not the unclean leprosy of our time, living cesspool and sewer systems that have become odious to the sovereign nation of the United States of America. I am not justifying felonious and criminal acts of violence anywhere, anytime and by anyone. However, we know all too well the proverbial cause and effect factor does not always necessarily translate to rational decision making and good conduct on a people that is systematically oppressed, put down and put-upon for centuries without provocation.
Although they are the underclass and underprivileged and are underfunded, undereducated and disproportionately underachieving, we will not write them off. As they are inarguably and inextricably part and parcel of tomorrow’s history in the making on the universal tapestry of humanity. For these young ebony souls are living breathing sovereign citizens of the United States of America regardless of their destitute disposition and they, too, deserve the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and due process in the court of justice. So, until all alleged perpetrators of Freddie Gray’s death are brought to trial and verdict is rendered, we will keep our heads up, hands up and continue to walk vigorously around the walls of Justice until victory’s voice is trumpeted forth from the halls of Justice. So, in honor of Freddie Gray, standup! Hands up! Standup! Hands up!
