The Stone Has Rolled Away

This thought was inspired by Easter Sunday.

The stone has rolled away

And on that morbid day on the gaunt hill of Golgotha, the eyes of mortal men lived to behold the prophecy foretold by prophets of old as the Christ King was cursed, conquered and crucified by the idolatrous mob of heathens, harlots and hate mongers.  They lauded him with proverbial praise and reveled in the prowess of their power for he who was king of kingdoms, king of nations and king of the cosmos, lay lifeless, listless and devoid of all lordship.  That fateful day, evening beckoned the night clouds to cover the nakedness of the crucified Christ who was carried away not as king but as carcass.  Alas, the day of the Christ incarnate had come to a climax.

For two nights and three days legions up on legions of demons, principalities of evil and rulers of wickedness in high places more numerous than the sands of the sea sprawled around the tomb of Christ to receive the virgin vilified body unto themselves.   Satan longed for such a time as this to vaunt his victory before God of how once dethroned from the psalm of holiness now Holiness must bow down and worship him.  But the Lord God Almighty on the third day could no longer silence his sovereignty from the sins of the world that embalmed and entombed his Son.  Then the Great I AM declared, “Heaven and earth shall pass away but my Word shall not pass away.  For I have covenanted with my Word and my Word with me as we are one.”   Then God called his grace and glory and said “Come my Grace and Glory, let us go into the place of time to receive love unto myself.”  God, Grace and Glory faced the earth as he declared with power and might, “Behold, from the cradle of the trough to the crowning of the cross, thou hast been faithful.  From the sanctity of sovereignty to the surrendering over unto sin, thou hast been faithful.  From the beckoning of thy birth to the benediction of thy last breath, thou hast been faithful.  Yea, thou hast been faithful even until now.  Behold my Son, my Beloved, thou shall not die but thou shall live for I am the omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  I am he who begat eternity and I am the dawn and eschaton of time.  Behold, I come in the power of the Trinity!”

In the twinkling of an eye, God, Grace and Glory stood before the tomb and God said “Go my Spirit, Grace and Glory; fill this place that my love may live again.”  The Holy Spirit, Grace and Glory moved upon the face of the tomb setting ablaze the resurrection radiance of the Redeemer that singed the sprawling sea of Satan saints to soot.  The resurrection radiance burned with holy fear renting the veil within the holy of holies asunder as it entered the tomb’s walls and rested upon the Christ.  Then God said “Aged stone from time immemorial be thou removed that I may behold the King of glory.”  In obedience, the colossal stone rolled away from the tomb’s entrance and silence listened for the voice of God.    Then the Lord of host declared, “Second Adam, Living Spirit, thou Ancient Word who art known and is fully known the new covenant of ages past, present and yet to come and the first fruits of my resurrection, arise in the Spirit and power of the Lord God Almighty!”

Behold, I saw the Morning Star arise in the immortal ineffable grace and Shekinah glory of God shining brighter and superior to the glory of any supernova known to mankind.  The triumphant trumpet of the Lord resounded, the heavens clapped with thunders of praise, and the majestic mountains bowed before their Maker as the angels sang the refrain, “Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might.  Heaven and earth are filled with your glory.  Hosanna, hosanna, in the highest.”   Then God said, “Behold the King of glory who reigns in sublime love, wisdom, and power.  Behold the Lord of Passover, the Lord of Pentecost; yea behold the Lord of Parousia.  Stand up and bless the Lord your God for he is exalted above all blessings and praise and he is Lord of all for he has arisen!”

So God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit ascended to Zion to rule above the kingdoms of this world as the Second Adam was realized and immortalized through the death, burial and resurrection of  the Messiah that man no more may die but may live for the stone has been rolled away.
